System Set-up
- Only turn processor on with scope plugged in.
- Attach signal connector RED Dot UP on both processor and side of scope
- Turn on Light then white balance (AWB button)
- Test scope by placing tip of scope in bucket with water. Test air bubbles & saline.
- Position Patient LEFT lateral
- Mouth gag to protect scope
- Lube distal end of scope
- Connect suction to floor suction cannister
- Distilled water in bottle
- Always keep cap on working channel for air tightness
- Flush the scope at end of procedure to removedebris
- Hang to dry/when not in use
Tips and Tricks
Cleaning
Leak test scope before and after use: Mount water resistant cap and plug for suction/water valve. Connect the leak tester, insufflate air until pressure up to test zone, then watch the pointer. If the pointer deflects, stop; if no apparent deflection ok to immerse the endoscope-keep cap on.
Steps: Clean, rinse, disinfect, rinse, alcohol, wipe and hang dry.
- Keep scope plugged in to utilize suction and air valves. If not possible, remove the scope and place water resistant cap before immersing. You will have to use a large syringe to suction and flush valves as directed below.
- Prepare a basin or sink with enzymatic cleaner/detergent. Follow cleaner instructions for dilution. Only use endoscope approved disinfectants, some solutions will damage the scope.
- Use TeeZyme Spongā3-7 gallons, tap water ok. ā¢ Be careful with distal end of scopeāmost expensive/fragile.
- Remove Red & Blue buttons and instrument insertion cap
- Immerse scope and let soak 5 min.
- Flush all channels 5 times.
- Insert cleaning brush into the instrument channel and the suction channel. Pass brush all the way through the distal end of scope, pass a few times until clear.
- Replace all valve caps.
- Suction detergent solution into scope (hold red valve down). Then flush using air and water valve (blue).
- Dispose of enzymatic cleaner, follow same steps with distilled water.
- Repeat steps with endoscope approved high level disinfectant.
- Flush all water out of channels, flush with 75% alcohol.
- Wipe dry, then hang for storage, protect distal end from damage while stored.

Veterinary Endoscope Handling
- The upper endoscope body should be held in the LEFT HAND ā Angulation control knobs and valves are located on the R side
- RIGHT HAND used to advance insertion tube and apply torque to maneuver endoscope
- Endoscopic visual field is divided like the face of a clock (picture of clock) Upward deflection = large knob turned counterclockwise = 12 Downward deflection = large knob turned clockwise = 6 Right deflection = small knob turned clockwise = 3 Left deflection = small knob turned counterclockwise = 9
- TIP: If LOST or disoriented, straighten the insertion tube by releasing knobs to original position, then back out to last landmark
Disinfection Solutions and Methods
Cleaning:
- Multi-enzymatic cleaner: One Tab, Clean and Simple, etc. Check with your distributor for brand options.
Disinfection:
- 75% Alcohol
High Level Disinfection:
- 2% Glutaraldehyde
- 0.2% Peracetic Acida
- Phthalic dicarboxaldehyde
Sterilization:
- Ethylene Oxide (EO Gas)
Attention:
Prior to storage, please make sure the endoscope surface and its all channels are totally dry. Water residue may facilitate the breeding and proliferation of bacteria and cause contamination.
Suitcase is for transportation only.
Suitcase is inappropriate for storing endoscopes after cleaning and disinfection.
Endoscope Storage
Clean endoscopes should be vertically suspended in a dry place of moderate temperate. ā¢ Constant temperate ā¢ Constant humidity
